I don't recall which I had been using. But I am now using the free version, and VMware does not work. How can I get VMware to work without uninstalling AVG?
Was this probem ever resovled. I have the same issue. If I remove AVG, everything is running as expected. With AVG install VMWare is crippled and not usable. Also note that disabling AVG does not make a different, only uninstall.
Hello Gentile,
I apologize for the inconvenience caused. Please let me know if it is a trial version (firewall included) or free version of AVG are you using on your PC?
Hello Gentile,
I appreciate your patience in this matter.
I have sent an email instruction to collect and send us the log files of AVG.
Please send us the log files which is help us to analyze and provide a fix for it.
Hello. I have a windows 7 host machine, and on it I run several virtual machines, all with XP operating system. I have had no problems with this for years. Recently on one of my computers, the one with AVG installed, the virtual machines stopped working. I tried VMworkstation, WMplayer 7 and VM player 12. They all behave the same. Extremely slow. I tried to disable AVG; it made no difference.
I found a thread here from April of this year where one user had a similar problem. He uninstalled AVG and the problem went away. I did the same on my computer, and again the problem went away.
So now I have my VMs working, but no anti-virus software. How do I get AVG to work with VMware?
Gentile, it seems AVG is not blocking your VMware. Please check with the VMware support for their fix.
Best regards,
Alok.
So I am telling you that my VMware doesn't work unless I uninstall AVG. With AVG installed even if it's completely disabled my VMware doesn't work. I have the same VMware on another machine that doesn't have AVG and it works fine. The only way I can get my VMware to work is to uninstall AVG. And you are telling me the problem is with the VMware?
