When I take the link I get the chance to download and install on this machine.

Does the "Custom Installation" option let me install AVG on a flashdrive to run from there on the other PC?

That's the one that needs the protection during an OS reload of Win XP 32 bit that will leave it exposed to malware during service-packing, driver upgrades, etc.

I am doing a clean install from disks of Windows XP 32 bit SP 2 on a Dell laptop. I have been advised to install antivirus before going online for things like latest drivers and SPs. How do I get free AVG with database via my desktop (WIndows 7 64 bit) to install on the laptop?
