How to open port 5111 to allow access through firewall

Hello Barry,
I am sorry to hear about the inconvenience caused. I would suggest you to change the firewall network profile from "Public" to "Private" and check if that fixes the issue. To change this settings, please open the AVG Internet Security and click on Menu>Settings>Components>Firewall>Customize>Network profile.

I am trying to allow incoming packets via port 5111 - but AVG blocks all external packets from getting to my PC - at current i am having to simply turn off the AVG firewall - this of course allows my data to arrive, but isn't really the right way to do things. I have tried making an application rule for the program that uses this port (java based), but that hasn't had any impact. Any ideas of other things to try would be gratefully received.

I am using AVG internet security version 17.5.3021. if any other details are required, just let me know and i will reply ASAP.

Thanks again, Barry.
