I've also had AVG AntiVirus report a Trojan horse on my computer. For at least the past week, it's just reported a Trojan horse if I'd run Microsoft Safety Scanner before or at the same time as AVG AntiVirus. I've also noticed that when I run the two programs at the same time, shortly after AVG AntiVirus reports finding a Trojan horse Microsoft Safety Scanner aborts. I'm using Windows XP.
Start your PC in safe mode. To know how to start in safe mode click http://bit.ly/1wIKiMo. Now run full scan with AVG. Once AVG detects the threat remove it and restart your PC in normal mode. Now again run full scan with AVG.
In case the threat reappears then you have to use AVG Rescue CD. It is available for free and is used to remove tough threats. To know how to use AVG Rescue CD click this link http://avgread.me/1JFb6Dx. This should solve the problem. Thank you.
Hi,
I have been using AVG free antivirus for a very long time. One of the scans, AVG detected Trojan Horse Generic.r_EXT. After the scan, it shows that the virus has been removed. However, on every scan, it detects the virus again. Can anyone tell me how do i remove the virus completely from my system? I have tried many antiviruses software since the detection of the virus such as Microsoft Security Essentials, microsoft Safety Scanner, Anti Malware and Stinger. None of these were able to detect the virus. Only with AVG, it detects the said virus.
How do I remove it?
I am using Windows Vista.
Please help.

"Whenever you run two antivirus program on the same Operating system there will always be some conflicts and that should be the reason for the abort of Microsoft Safety Scanner." Thanks. That sounds reasonable.
"Do you mean that the removed Trojan threat by AVG comes back again after the system restart?" No.
