Hello Amal,
Sorry, do you mean that you would like to save the AVG log files on your external storage disk?
Please be informed that RAM memory cannot be used for storing any physical data like files, media etc.
A bit surprising, there is an answer on your Forum itself by AVG Support suggesting using symbolic links to shift log (or changes to registry). Hope you saw link on my last post: https://support.avg.com/answers?id=906b0000000D4XDAA0
I strongly feel you should allow that facility in AVG.

Hi,
I would like to shift AVG Log files as I use a SSD. I am on Windows 7. I created a symbolic link from AVG default log directory to my RAM Disk using:
mklink /d "C:\Users\Name\AppData\Local\AVG\log" "R:\AVG\log"
Now AVG seems to have shifted the log to C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Avg\log
instead of using the original directory.
I created a another symbolic link for C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Avg\log directory pointing to RAMDisk but now it is crashing half the time.
How can I actually shift the log location?
Regards
Amal

Yes, that is what I would like to do. RAM Disk is equivalent to an external disk which I can save anytime I like. It will reduce constant write operations.

Hi,
You didn't understand the issue. I want AVG Anti-virus log files to be saved to the external disk and it is NOT happening despite me changing the log path. Pls try to understand the issue I wrote deeply. I cannot do it manually. AVG saves those files in a fixed location - can I configure that. If I can't then, is what I did correct. If that is the right way, then its NOT working.

Hello Amal,
We appreciate your efforts, we would like to inform you that you cannot change the AVG log files location but you can install the setup on a different location. Thank you for understanding.
