In order to focus on development of the latest version of AVG TuneUp, we are no longer updating or improving the old program version.
Because of this, we are gradually upgrading users who still use the old version, allowing as many users as possible to benefit from the enhanced technology and new features included in the latest program version.
As the old version of AVG TuneUp is no longer receiving bug fixes or improvements, we strongly recommend keeping the latest program version installed on your PC.
However, you'll be able to reinstall the older version after removing the latest version of TuneUp. To do so, you can follow the steps in this article.

No I can’t remove the installed version then reinstall my version!! The reason for that is because of the virus, trojan, worm, malware that AVG installs on EVERYONE”S COMPUTER when they have EVER installed the trial version of ANY AVG product!! I know that AVG has been doing this for years and it really pisses me off!!
I used avgclear.exe and avgremover.exe and I still get the same result!! I have a screencap of the install error but am unable to attach it here.
I have even searched the registry completely and removed all mentions of AVG as well as search every file on my hard drive for any that mention AVG and deleted this too. But I still come up against the same problem as shown in that screencap - "Incompatible AVG product detected!" and "Uninstall your paid copy of…"
What is the name of this evil file you install???

How can I stop AVG PC Tuneup being upgraded to AVG Tuneup??
I HATE AVG Tuneup and want to stick with the AVG PC Tuneup that I purchased.

Regarding the message that you receive while attempting to install the older version, it seems that there is another optimization tool installed on your computer which is blocking the installation. To check this : Go to control panel - Programs - Programs & Features - Check the list. You can also share us the screenshot of the programs list & we'll help you to identify the other optimization tool installed on your computer.
