How to stop the incessant nagging to renew my subscription?

Seriously…so what you're saying is that the subscription version of AVG is different to the free version.
You and I both know that this is not the case and even if I did uninstall the subscription version and replace it with the 'free' version that the free version will simply nag me to upgrade to the paid version.
When is AVG going to wake up to the fact that nagging is unethical and just plain wrong!!!
Why is it SO DIFFICULT to add a 'Stop Nagging Me Option' to the settings???
The only reason I don't swap is because you're all the same…
When are you going to start behaving responsibly as software developers.
I would be quite happy to pay for a license to use AV software but you're always nagging to upgrade to something more…
Absolutely pathetic…

Totally agree with this subscriber. I bought the licenses for a couple of years then a month back decided to drop back to the free version. During the paid period, there were always pop ups telling me what AVG was doing, how wonderful it was and trying to get me to buy more subs, because, "I wasn't totally protected". Over that last month I got more and more nags until the last week it was half a dozen or more a day (I had four subs) warning of the impending expiries.  Same on my wife's machine.  That was in addition to the constant advice on what AVG had or hadn't done, how great AVG was at protecting me, what other subs I should buy, etc. Usually there were multi-layer pop ups (i.e. Close one and another pops up)  All in addition to an update or two that practically crippled my laptop whenever they happened, especially if they tripped over a Windows or other one happening at the same time. I am happy to accept some advertising for a free version, happy to pay for a sub, but not prepared to be nagged to death even when you have paid.  Right now, with only one sub live and the rest 'free' I have 14 tasks running in the task manager, all taking up resources from the machine. I have better things to do with my limited time than make a carreer out of handling AVG pop-ups. Sorry but I am so frustrated I am checking what other virus protection utilities are available and whether users suffer the same level of nagging. An initial look shows AVG doesn't even appear in a couple of the 'Top 10nAV services', lists, which is disappointing for me and must be a concern for AVG.

Thank you for your understanding.

I'm so annoyed by the renew popup for TuneUp - that I'm NOT going to renew byt use another product.
Same story about AVG antivirus - keeps nagging me about unsafe documents and suggesting that I buy more products…again and again.

i have the same issue. youd think if AVG really cared as of 2 years ago since this being posted that they would have done anything at all about this incessant nagging but yet here i am 2 years after the fact and nothing has changed. im thinking about leaving AVG completely because of this. up until the nagging i would have reccomended this. but now after seeing nearly 12 or more FORCEFULL popups that interupt me when im watching a movie or doing something else im almost 100% sure that i will never go back to avg ever again because of this bullcrap. nice job AVG you literally care nothing at all about the concerns because nothing has been done. you just copy and paste a garbage respoince and do nothing at all to fix it. nice buisness motto

It's not getting any better, regardless. After years of being the AVG user, I can attest that the policy where you pay about $50 to 60 AUD, for renewals - each time, you are always 'not fully protected'.
So, one of the such examples on the AVG behalf is: with the "Internet Security" edition, or so the AVG calls it. We, in the community of users are now convinced that all those 'extras' and functionalities should be included in the paid version, under the same price tag. Such as the option for the Hacker Attacks, and option for Personal Data protection. Only when those 2 are included with the renewal - we could say that we are paying a fair price for the complete protection. Until than, the AVG may call it 'fair' for the price, but we all know, that on the side of customers, in that reard - with the AVG - we are still not there yet.

AVG, here is another customer telling you pretty much the same thing,

I plan on renewing, but only once my current expires, and not before, so getting constantly nagged to renew my subscription is very annoying, to the point that I felt the need to lookup how to disable this, and now I find this forum, filled with people annoyed at AVG constantly nagging.

This forum was created in 2020, so nearly four years, its completely understandable you'd like customers to stay protected, but you badly need to create a "Remind me in x# of days button with the expiring subscription" warning.

It is towards the end of the subscription, the time where customers are more likely to either stop subscribing or consider other options, the very last thing you want to do in my opinion, do anything to encourage customers to do either of those things,

I have 11 days tell I need to renew, and I've been getting this popup for a few days now I think, you know, they called it a scam or virus back when popups kept popping up asking for money not too long ago . . . .

AVG, when you start to act like what your suppose to be protecting us from, its time to rethink  some things.

It's another part of "Rip-Off Britain" which is responsible for people having to pay out money they can ill-afford. I was on the free version so AVG decided I ought to pay them but I didn't find this out until I checked my bank account. Sorry to say this has happened with another company who won't accept what I tell them so it's typical of the state of the country now.

Hi Robert,

We are sorry to hear this.

When the subscription is expired, the program wont be providing any protection which makes the computer vulnerable for threats.

So, AVG will constantly remind you about the protection.

If you don't wish to renew the subscription, you can uninstall the current program and install the AVG Free version which will provide the basic protection.

Thank you.

This year I consciously decided not to renew my AVG subscription. The paid option does not provide me with anything I need or want.
I am absolutely sick to death of being constantly nagged by AVG to renew my subscription. Is there an option to turn the the nagging off short of un-installing and going to another product?
Why does AVG persist with annoying the crap out people and not providing a simple option to disengage from their paid subscriptions???
The web is littered with people complaining about AVG support, nagging and difficulty to dis-engage.
Please somebody advise how to get the nagging to stop?

Hello Bob & Glenn,

Sorry, I meant the likes of the "Top 10 AV services" sites, not as I accidentally typed above.

Hi Hari,  Thanks.  Appreciate your acknowledging my grizzle.  I'll leave it for the time being. Only further comment is that even with the paid versions you get far too many pop ups from AVG. There is always a lot going on, on one's phone.  Thanks again, David

I have the same problem. I cant change the AUTO REFLL.

David, We're sorry for the negative experience you've been through and we appreciate your feedback. If you'd like to give us a chance to further look into it, please create a separate AVG community post by clicking the link below and post your questions in your own post.
