We are a managed service provider who inherited a mess from a previous company. They were using AVG free on about 100 computers in the corporate environment. And maybe another 50ish computers with old outdated AVG versions.
We need to mass uninstall AVG. I downloaded the AVG removal tool, but there does not seem to be any switches I can use with it.
I have tried
removeavg.exe /norestart /skipask /silent /
But the normal prompt still pops up
I am not going to walk around to 100+ computers and manualy uninstall AVG. How can I get the removal tool to work on a domain wide basis on all the machines at once, silently without interupting the users?
Hello Dane,
Unfortunately you cannot the AVG program from all the computers at the same time from the domain.
You have to run it on each PC.
Could you please confirm that you have used this remover tool: http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe ?
Yes the download came from that link. But you are telling me that there is no way a company as big as AVG does not have a way to mass uninstall their program? Have you never run into a time where someone had 200+ machines that needed to have AVG uninstalled for one reason or another? I honestly find that imposible to belive.
I know for a fact Kaseya has a script to silently uninstall AVG I am looking for the same.
Dane, AVG Free Edition is actually for an home computer environment use. I think AVG Business Edition may well have the facility for mass uninstallation.
