How turn off updates

Hi guys

unfortunately I am working in a remote location with limited access to bandwidth with exorbitantly expensive data costs. I'm on a mac and am happy to turn off my virus protection for the period until I regain reasonable coverage again.

I have turn off all my scanning but it seems that intermittently (possibly every second day) AVG does an update of some kind causing me to go over my data limits triggering costs. I suspect it in the virus definition updates which obviously are not required. In my activity monitor I see 5 avg processes (proxy, daemon, services etc) which upon force kill they restart. Can someone please advise what the root daemon is that creates these services and how I can kill them?

Or advise on a more tidy way of stopping AVG.

Thanks in anticipation.

Rod

Hello Rod,
We are here to help you. The AVG updates will be running on your computer background, if you have installed AVG Antivirus on your mac computer.
In this case, I request you to uninstall AVG Antivirus from your computer.
You can follow the instruction to reinstall AVG Antivirus when you regain your coverage.
Regards,
Alok.
