I request you to try the steps given in the below article to allow the application in AVG Internet Security,

Please try the above steps and let us know the status. 

If still the issue persist,  please share the screenshot of the error message which you receive while using the ATX program.

I am an income tax preparer.  It appears that my AVG program prevents me to open up my ATX income tax program.  I have a stand alone computer, and that tax program says it is trying to find the server to start the ATX program.  This happened this last weekend, and the technician from ATX said that he had to stop AVG from working to let me open my ATX program.  Please Help.  I have income tax returns to complete.
