Upon checking your records, we see that you have an active license for AVG Internet security and an active subscription AVG Performance. Do you have AVG Performance also installed on your PC along with AVG Internet security. If you have to uninstall and reinstall AVG Internet security, you would also have to uninstall AVG performance. So we request you to run remover tool to uninstall AVG completely and re install AVG Internet security first and then AVG performance.
I get to a point at which error code 0xC0070643 appears, sayin g that "Service firewall (avgfws) could be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient priviledges … etc" Very annoying.
I am the only one who uses this, my, computer.
How do I get rid of avg ?

We would request you to run the AVG remover tool to remove all the remnants of the failed installation as described below. After you run the remover tool successfully, please download and install AVG using offline installation file based on your OS ( 32 bit or 64 bit).
To run remover tool, please visit http://www.avg.com/tools#tba2 and click on "AVG Remover" to download the remover tool and run it on your PC. It will ask you to select which product you would like to uninstall. Please select "AVG Protection" and follow the setup instructions to uninstall AVG.
