I cannot uninstall AVG

Have you tried to uninstall AVG using AVG remover tool?
If not, please try run AVG remover tool based on your OS (32-bit or 64-bit) to completely remove AVG. To determine whether your OS is a 32-bit or 64-bit, please click on this link. http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/827218

I have used the AVG uninstaller and it still leaves AVG on my system.  I cannot delete the folder, because the service is running.  I cannot kill the service in the task bar.  AVG is acting like the products its supposed to protect us from.
