What AVG actually want is to install software you don't need on your computer.
They use the ruse of new software and its like to trick 'unwary older users' (they exist) into installing extra software that you would never want (AVG Web TuneUp, AVG Internet Security etc etc.)
You may notice that your question and similar requests are totally ignored.
Understand that AVG is your enemy, and they want to install junk on YOUR computer.
Chris, To avoid any confusion the latest version is actually now 2015.0.6125.

I don't like being continually nagged to install presumed new release of AVG free
I use AVG 2015 free and like it very much. I guess that a new AVG is being pushed out although I can find no mention of it anywhere. I am being nagged to update to this new varsion (AVG 2016?). I do not want to do this until I have evaluated AVG 2016 so I can make my own informed choice to install or not.
Hello Chris. That's great to hear that the instructions has been worked and thank you for the feedback you have provided to improvise the program.
Thanks Kishore.
Three version updates in less than a week! This must count as a hat-trick.
Is AVG out to break a record?
A curiosity: The update from version 2015.0.6086 to 2015.0.6122 was initiated by using the update prompt message box but the update from version 2015.0.6122 to 2015.0.6125 was automatic.
I am even more delighted with AVG 2015 than before, especially now that I have recovered confidence in the consequences of the updates. I am used to AVG not pestering the user of the free version with popups (this says a big positive about AVG) and so the appearance of the update prompt message box was unexpected.
Best wishes,
Chris Pugson
I am sorry to have been rude to you guys. Is the version update message box a new feature introduced with version 2015.0.6086? The change was unexpected and I am always careful to know what I am about to install. I thought that it might be for an update to AVG 2016 but could find no information about that. It is getting toward the time when the next major release normally comes out.
I have just seen the version update message box. I clicked to install and nothing happens. I am running as Admin. No activity in the process list. ???
Once again, I apologise for my bad manners.

I am using Outpost Firewall Pro 9.1 with Windows XP SP3. I notice that avgui.exe uses web browser protocols and has been blocked from using active content when communicating with avg.com. I have now allowed active content like JavaScript, referrals, etc. to be used with avg.com. Do the other components such as avgmfapx.exe and avgidsagent.exe use plain TCP?
I am trying to make sure that my firewall is not stopping things. The PC concerned is locked down very tightly. Obviously, avg.com is to be trusted.
I can put up with the repeated message box but how it helps AVG to irritate a user like this is beyond me. I will continue to dismiss it for as long as it persists and for as often as it appears.

Thanks Alan. Nothing like a good changelog to stimulate the grey matter. It is most interesting and very satisfying to know what goes on.
I hope that the program update schedule is on-song tomorrow morning between 8am and 10am.
