Hi, I have the same problem - I can't remember the Settings password. I deleted C:\Program Data\AVG\Antivirus\aswResp.dat (from Windows 11 recovery mode command prompt) (its size was 0 btw), but when I subsequently try to access Settings I am still prompted for a password. Even when I try to uninstall AVG Internet Security entirely from the "Add or Remove Programs" tool, I am still prompted for a password… Please kindly advise.

I am afraid it is not possible to reset or retrieve the password set for accessing the settings in AVG Internet Security.
I would request you to delete “aswResp.dat” file to regain access to password protected areas.
1: Please restart the computer in Safe mode (https://bit.ly/35K7gbC).
2: The file is located at C:\Program Data\AVG\Antivirus\aswResp.dat
If you are unable to delete the above file, you have to uninstall the AVG Internet Security completely and install it again.
