Thanks Folks,
I followed your instructions and uninstalled everything AVG and then reinstalled Ultimate again.
I'll be watching for anything strange for a few days.
I have run every Windows Ops system since 1994.
I had Win 7 for three years with AVG installed and never one moments problem.
Windows 10 is a different animal, at least for a novice.
Thanks again.

Travis, Win 10… Windows Defender was re-classified into an AntiVirus prog which will conflict with AVG if it's not disabled when AVG is installed.
Windows Defender is an anti-malware component of Microsoft Windows. It was first released as a free antispyware program download for Windows XP, shipped with Windows Vista and Windows 7 and made into a full antivirus program replacing Microsoft Security Essentials as part of Windows 8 and later versions.

Windows 10 does not allow AVG to function and shows that AVG is not connected to the internet. Then It shows no virus protetion at all unless I select to scan with Windows Defender.
Travis, As previously stated with Win 7 Windows Defender was only an antispyware prog whereas on Win 10 it's an AntiVirus prog!!..

We regret for the inconvenience caused. Since you had mentioned that AVG is not connected to the internet , we would request you to confirm whether your AVG interface is displaying as "No active components" if so we would request you to remove previously installed program traces of (AVG 2015 or AVG 2014)from your system using AVG Remover tool and then try to reinstall AVG Ultimate.
Note: If you have installed any other conflicting programs like AVAST, NORTON, McAfee or KASPERSKY try to uninstall it.
Once you have uninstalled from your system, try to follow the steps which mentioned below.
