Thank you for your support. I try to find out which program is "unusual" and I find it a little bit difficult because I do not use my computer for any advaced operations. I use it almost like a typing and surfing machine; I use the internet browsers and documents (Microsoft Word or an other program).
I have had a try to find out a "Putlocker" like program. I suppose I have uninstalled the preinstalled games.
I have discovered that the computer freezes while using any application.
Well, I have searched for information on internet and I found "HijackThis" and I run it to see if there are any suspicious files running in my computer. I have copied the info to this site so you can see yourself: https://pastebin.com/whGfnCYx
I also got a message from the same program: "For some reason your system denied access to the Hosts file. If any hijacked domains are in this file, HijackThis may NOT be able to fix this.
If that happens you need to edit the file yourself. To do this click start... "
The question is if it is a virus/adware why did the Antivirus program did not discover it in time. Maybe it it takes time to discover every virus before a virus-definition is made?
I am carefull and do not usually download unknown programs (I am just using my computer to write in a world-dokument and surf on internet), but the tips are from a tread from one tech forum. There is also something like "Windows repair. All in one": https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/windows-repair-all-in-one/ and the question is if it can help.
Thank you!
Could that help?
Hello Monica,
We will check this for you.
Please let me know when exactly you get this screen freeze issue. Is that when you browser online or open an application?
Do you have this issue with all the web browsers?
I have AVG Internet Security, Tune up and Driver Updater. I suppose that someone at home had used the computer trying to watch a movie on a streamingsite and maybe the site had a virus (in ads because usually I do not have any adbocker on since some pages require that). The computer screen is freezing after watching films on Youtube or a paid film service. And it is a new computer with few programs.
I have run the Computer scan and virus updates, driver updates, and I have put some programes to "sleep" but it didn´t solve the problem with a freezing screen.
What can I do?
I would be very thankfull for any help.
Monica, we understand your concern.
Since, we need more investigation regarding the issue. We would like to offer our additional support through email.
Please check for the email and connect back to us as soon as possible.
We are sorry to hear this.
It is not possible to hack your computer, when you have an active AVG Internet security.
We could see that you are receiving popups from a particular website. You might receive these popups from its source files.
Please connect to our remote session, so that we can resolve this issue and optimize your computer.
Interesting, now I could run the AVG computer scan and no viruses were found!
I have discovered that if I move the marker around the screen the screen will not freeze, but when I leave the computer for some minutes (for example to pick up a cup of tea) the screen can freeze.
Thank you!
I have problem with Internet Explorer, Chrome and Opera. Now I can see that the problem remains not just after streaming on example Youtube but having the browser on and without doing anything. The screen freezes after some minutes and I have to restart the computer with the "on/off".
I have researched the name of the side visited which propably caused the problem: www.putlocket.fyi
Thank you for the information, Monica.
Please reset all your browsers installed on your computer and check if that fix the issue.
Go to Control Panel and click on "Programs", from the list check for unwanted application or anything similar to "putlocker".
If yes, please remove the same and check if everything works fine.
If the issue persists, please let us know and we will assist you further.
Thank you for your answer.
Now I can see that the computer also freezes when I am using any application. I have about 4-5 minutes to do something. Then I have to restart the computer. I have uninstalled Opera and Chrome and having difficulties uninstalling Internet Explorer I started to reinstall the Windows. But the process couldn´t be completed: the computer has frozen just after few minutes. I couldn´t even run the computer scan to the end.
Well, it´s a pity because it is a new computer. Should I buy a new hard drive and try to get any help to install it?
