Sorry but your answer is not clear. Do I need the Browser specific VPN to stay safe while surfing the web, or is my current VPN subscription for my computer doing the same thing thus making the Browser VPN redundant?

AVG Secure VPN functions in AVG Secure Browser works as a private tunnel through the internet, which encrypts your data and secures your connection when using public Wi-Fi connections, such as those in cafes or airports.
If you have not already installed AVG Secure VPN tool bar , go to the Security & Privacy Center, then click Free download on the AVG Secure VPN tile to install it.
After installing AVG Secure VPN tool bar, you need to purchase a paid subscription separately, or register for a free-trial version before using the product.
If any user does not have AVG Secure VPN program on his device, they can just enable AVG Secure VPN tool bar in AVG Secure Browser by purchasing it. As you already have AVG Secure VPN program, it will also protect AVG Secure Browser.
So, if you wish you can disable AVG Secure VPN tool bar by following below steps :
Open AVG Secure Browser - menu (3 dots at top right) - Accessibility - VPN settings - Disable Show Secure Browser VPN in toolbar

I currently have a VPN subscription that, as described, encrypts my internet connection and hides my location etc from the world, why am I being told I need to buy a browser VPN subscription to encrypt my surfing??
