I have had enough of your fucking pop-ups. :(

Same as that. Uninstalling this useless annoying crap. WTF? Stupid box in the corner which i cant even minimize meaning my PC is hijacked until AVG decides to finish its updates. The pop ups arejust too much. BYE BYE

I will never recommend antivirus to ANYONE. My recommendation? Use Linux!  Ubuntu is one, with the MATE desktop and looks a LOT like Windows. If Ubuntu isn't your cup of tea, Linux Mint is equally good (I digress, it's a Ubuntu derivative).

I had a friend one time who swore upon AVG and when I ran applications from GitHub, Sourceforge, PortableApps.com, etc., False positives every 30 seconds! Seriously? Is this how you treat the FOSS community? I had to boot a Ubuntu live USB on his AVG-encumbered computer just to get anything done. And AVG hosed my Ubuntu USB key because some file required for its operation in E:\casper (/media/some/mount_point/casper in Linux) was a Trojan? This was the squashfs file, the compressed live Linux environment, gone!

This is why y'all suck. AVG ruins computers. Linux saves them.

your the man frank! really avg thinks that its marketing but they should at least include a way to disable it or better NOT DO IT AT ALL, i looked at the intire conversation and all the avg workers are saying the same thing "write your positive commenton here: a broken link to facebook" and they dont even listen to your point… i hate popups they are the worst! i have an adblocker too and its my favorite application. it does it job! blocks adds not self promoting and totally free! addblock plus everyone! also its stupid that avg's cleanup cleans up 1gb for free but it finds 47 or more gb and refuses to clean it unless you buy their stupid thing… i want to uninstall this crap but im kinda glitching the system so i dont suffer as much add crap bullshit blablbalbaplsd;jnsadljfhldshflgjl;ajhdlajsd';kajsdljsa (spamming on their web)aspkj fkldhfgl, khdflghdlfghlhlasd

Hello Chris,

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.
However, we request you to refrain from using profanity in this public forum.
Let us clarify this for you. Many of our users find these offers useful: they rely on them to upgrade to our higher levels of protection.
We also handpick offers from our other products or those of partners we feel can add to your security or digital experience.
Also the frequency of pop ups can be controlled directly from the app. See the 'How to Change the Frequency of Pop-Up Notifications' article for details how to change it.
Thank you for understanding.

DItch the windblows, delete the scammers, spammers, popups and crammers. End the circle of virus creation.

simply Install any Linux distro.

I blow my nose at you filthy KKKKniggits! plbplbplbplbplbplbplbplbplbplbplbplbplbplbl

oh and Fuck off... that's right fuck right off. nah nah nah nah.

Screw this bullcrap software. I'm uninstalling it because it gives me insane amounts of pop ups and false positives. Get over yourself, you overzealous information thiefs.

tl;dr - avast/avg has dehabiliting amount of popups, even when you subscribe to their nonsense. don't bother wasting the internet on this garbage.

ROFLMAO!!!

I created an account just to write this. I used to use AVG years ago and was going to try it out again. After reading this thread, you guys are worse than the viruses I'm trying to protect my PC from.

This thread is coming on to 6 YEARS OLD!!! And you guys still haven't learnt so that can only mean that there aren't that many people leaving the platform vs joining/using to justify a change in business model. Hard selling must be working since you're still in business. But to treat the free users like second class citizens/peasants/dirt/slaves and telling them to just deal with it or do this to "lower" the frequency of pop up is just dumbfounding.

Basically, your business motto is, "We don't want broke asses or cheap bastards leeching off of our technology so we'll bombard you with unclosable popups until you comply. Even when you pay, sometimes you'll still get these popups! Enjoy!" or "PAY OR ELSE"

Wow! Just WOW! SMH

I'm done with you avg you suck!  You don't listen to us so I'm leaving.  keep your spam pop up bullshit and shove it up your ass your worthless prick fucks!  Go Frank, you the man!

Like so many I have been annoyed by the avg Pop-ups especially at start-up and getting a message to the effect "Renew Driver Updater".  Well I got rid of them:- 1. I logged into the avg website and unsubscribed to the software I no longer wanted. 2. Then went back to my PC Programme files and uninstalled avg Driver Updater.
Unfortunately avg and their different software applications and their own website they set-up for you the subscriber are not High Tech.  A true let down on such a brilliant idea of improving, protecting your PC to produce such an unproffesional personal website that does not recognise you the subscriber has subscribed within avg a package that now superceeds an old one… could do better tut tut thanks anyway…I HOPE SOMEONE LISTENS so improvements can be made!

Hello Dragon,
My apologies for any inconvenience caused. The frequency of pop ups can be controlled directly from the app (please open AVG Internet Security > menu > settings > general > Pop ups > manage your pop ups). If you're using AVG Internet Security paid version, then you can uncheck the box "show pop up offers for other AVG Products" in general settings, it will stop all the AVG promotional pop ups.
Best regards,
Alok.

Here here. Avira is looking good to me. I am sick of being asked to pay for things I am already paying for. It will goodbye very soon.

I agree with you Frank. I am absolutely sick of AVGs popups.
Looked for ways to stop them but the only sure way seems to be to uninstall AVG
I am going to remove AVG as soon as I logout of this community Blog
Seriously pissed off with this software.
Tony

I was once a paying AVG subscriber, but no longer. Even with the full PAID version there were campaign pop-ups.

I don't mean to belittle you guys, but I design heavy workclass ROVs for the Oil and Gas industry. The last thing I have a need for on my HOME PC is to have your advertising thrown in my face as I'm trying to develop a new node-hub.

Grow up AVG.

"We will take your feedback seriously and try to bring changes in future."

Lol.  That would be a refreshing change.

AVG used to be the greatest by a LONG way.  Now it's more intrusive and annoying that some of the malware it's supposed to get rid of.  I'm uninstalling too.

I agree with Frank sentiments though I'm far too polite to put it in quite those terms. But he is 100% correct these pop ups are worse than annoying, and you cant just ignore them if they are in the way,
you have to stop what you are doing to remove them.

I think you have made a big mistake with this campaign. I fully appreciate that you are providing a free service, and self advertising is to be expected, but once a week is perfectly acceptable, pushing it daily on start up is unacceptable, its spamming, and is more likely to make users determined never ever to buy anything from AVG.  The popups look and feel like malware, theres no information just the the statement that your security isn't complete and download now.

Once a week with a few lines to tell us what you are pushing and why we need it, would surely reap better results, instead of hitting the close button without even looking, a few of us might read the information and go and check it out on the website and decide to buy whatever it is.  As it is its a total waste of your time.

I agree with every word of Frank, I have used AVG for many years and also recomended it to many people, but no more, it is so irritating and intrusive. I will be looking fo an alternative now to this pile of steaming crap.

I am not going to submit feedback anywhere else. You have my feedback in this thread, and I already told you, that I have uninstalled your crap. I am not allowing anything to make pop-ups on my computer, no matter what it is, so you can stuff your campaign where the sun doesn't shine.

YOU UNDERSTAND NOTHING.

Here here. Avira is looking good to me. I am sick of being asked to pay for things I am already paying for. It will goodbye very soon.

I have had enough of your fucking campaign crap. Your constant pop-ups are more annoying than any pop-ups your software is supposed to get rid of. I am better off not running your freaking selfpromoting shit at all.

It is amazing that you morons cannot make a piece of software, which is supposed to help us get rid of annoyances, without it being an annoyance itself.

I am now uninstalling your crap, and changing to another provider, that does not constantly spam their users with annoying pop-ups, and I am going to advice everybody I know to do the same.
