When you initially purchased the product, you received some  discount and agreed that your subscription would continue for successive renewal terms equal in length to your initial license term, at the undiscounted price in effect at renewal. Information about price increase was included in the renewal notification email that was sent 30 days before the charge took place. Hence, you have been charged GBP 74.99 for the renewal.
AVG Internet Security - Unlimited is now renamed as AVG Internet Security (Multi-device) and the same is appearing in your order confirmation e-mail.
If the receive the error message during the activation, so share the screenshot of the same in reply to our e-mail we sent now.

I have had my subscription renewed by AVG which is over double what I paid for last year. The amount was taken out of my account before I was expecting to pay. The cover shows I have multi app for 10.again I didn't ask for this.
I have tried entering the AVG activation code  and it is not accepting the code. Not very successful.
