I have started getting unwanted pop up ads from "couponarific" and can't see anything in my downloads relating to them, how can I stop them, driving me mad!

Ross, For removal info have you 'googled' remove couponarific ads?..
No AV product is capable of providing you with 100% protection although AVG are always working 24/7.

AVG would recommend to start with uninstalling all unknown/unused programs and browser addons.

Re: couponarific

This is a strange one. Apparently avg has no defense or solution to the problem. Somehow this pup or malware embeds itself into the startup phase of your computer so it beomes invisible to avg and other protection.I've even called the people who own the advertising companies and they deny ever hearing of couponarific. Are they being hijacked also? There are many solutions posted on the net, but they may be worse. Apparently avg has become commercialized and only thinks of increasing profits. This is old malware and should be on the avg list. Avg has standard denial,"we can't protect from everything".I'm considering other options including wiping the drive and new updated software and virus protection. Less expensive to avg tech assistance. Couponarific apparently has one objective, philshing and data collection. Check out bit defender as an alternative.
