I/O Status Error code 0xc000009c

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Do you have the  Service Pack 3 installed for Windows XP?
Did you try installing the latest AVG Protection free  Zen program on your Windows XP PC?

I'm running windows XP (not wanting to upgrade) and was running AVG free 2015. Since trying to install the 2016 version I have had nothing but problems. The steps on self help pages to delete the program and start over don't work. Now the program won't upgrade (stuck in cycle) and get multiple errors.
