Hello Roberto. Thank you for your patience, and I apologize for the delayed response. My name is Shawn, and I am writing to you on behalf of the AVG Senior Support team.

Simply answered, this is the normal and expected behavior of the program. The VPN profile is part of system/configuration. It is necessary to install/allow installation of the VPN profile to be able to use your VPN application.

I have been using the VPN in my I-phone for some time.  Suddenly, before connecting I am being asked to set up a VPN profile.  Why this new requirement and is this secure?

That is correct.  The message appears when I am trying to turn on the VPN connection.  The screenshot of what I get is below.  I have not allowed it as I am not sure if this is secure.
