Hi, I use my M1 MacBook Pro running Mac OS X Sonoma as a device that’s on all the time. AVG VPN seems to be working fine today but sometimes after a few hours I may get the code “ME12P3“ when trying to troubleshoot the connection…
For further context I seem to get these issues occuring when returning to my laptop at the start of the next day.
I wake up the display from sleep and enter in the username and password of my regular standard user account and I often find the VPN is then unable to reconnect.
For further context I also have AVG Internet Security that is scheduled to run daily scans every day in the middle of the night with a monthly scan that also runs on the 1st of the month in the middle of the night.
Could it be that by running the anti-virus scanner it upsets the VPN perhaps?
The workaround I’m using at the moment is to simply logout from my standard user’s session (only user logged in in the Finder) and log back in again.
After doing this the VPN appears to reconnect without any issue.
Other apps I usually have running all the time would be
Google Chrome, Mac OS Mail, Calendar, Terminal (Unix bash),VS Code, Postman, and sometimes Slack.
