I have applied the suggested solution, however due to storms have been unable to update. However the brief attempt I made showed a 20% which is new. I'll be in touch if it doesn't work. Thanks for your help, James

No joy as yet. Tried the suggested method, twice, no change on the
connection, and the process only goes to 15% or 20% but nothing else
happens. Plan B?? The same thing happened last years version
occasionally, and I sometimes had success having the AVG site open on a
browser while trying to update - but not on this version. James
