Just running an update for system mechanic, and the update.exe got blocked due to detextion of IDP-ALEXA.53. Looks like this is generally a false positive. Given that I trust the source of the update file, should I just create an exception?
We appreciate your efforts in sharing us the screenshot, Derren.
Sometimes, this might be a false positive. In this regard, we'd suggest you to submit a false positive request via this link. Once you submit the request a group of analysts will review the file & whitelist it, if it is found to be safe or goes through the clean notes of AVG.
It isn't recommended to install/update the program without knowing the legitimacy.
Thank you for your understanding in advance!
