Hello I am seeking adivice on how to deal with a recurring threat with the name IDP.ARES Generic. Ever since downloading some Open Source GIS software - which seemed to visibly install "Isurf" which affected my browsers I have had AVG warnings concerning IDP.ARS Generic (I uninstalled Isurf as best I could). It seems to disguise itself as various exe files - once even landing in my WAMP server as mysqld.exe. I have follow AVG's recommendation to remove it, but it keeps on returning. What is required to finally eliminate this beast?? Thanks in advance.

May I know which AVG program have you installed in your computer ?
Do you get the same  IDP.ARES Generic threat detection issue ?
Does this detection occur every time you start your computer ?
