Dan,
Could you share the screenshot  https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=How-to-create-a-screenshot&supportType=home of that detection popup to check and assist you further?

This threat detection was resolved from our end.

Please update AVG and restart your computer to check if the issue is resolved.

Does anyone know how to take care of this one? It keeps coming back randomly.
Thanks

As for the temporary folder created under Programdata, once you remove it, it won't return, as the anti-virus is obviously blocking the creation of the .txt file.

So guys, yesterdayy I got the same problem. The virus generally comes in pairs, but I fixed it. Here is a little guide how to MANUALLY get rid of it.

I am experiencing this as well and recently started experiencing wcript.exe myself.

I am at the latest version of AVG as well.

I do get Wscript.exe ones.

Hello Raysst,

I understand the inconvenience.
I have sent an email instruction on how to send us the log files which is necessary for analyzing the issue.
Send us the data along with the screenshot of threat detection through the email.
If the email is not found in inbox do check in spam and junk folders.

Ah that's annoying.

I think the only other thing I did, other than doing the Malwarebytes scan, was deleting the temporary folder under programdata, (the one that's a long string of numbers/letters, and is where the .txt file is being created). I did try remove some recent downloads I had, but I doubt that was a factor.

I did not have any process in task manager that seemed suspicious, especially not the wscript.exe.

Sorry that's not working for you.

I saw another forum post about doing some further measures, like deleting some registry entries, perhaps that may help.
