I hope this is of use. I have now also installed Avast anti-virus and both browsers work normally with it, as long as AVG is disabled. If I enable AVG both browsers fail. I've run several anti-malware programs via safe mode as well as AVG and Avast virus scans with no success. I've tried it with MS Security Essentials enabled and disabled, Zone Alarm firewall 13.3.209.000 is installed as is Spybot Resident 1.6.2.

Here are my crash details from Chrome.

…and I think I have a solution for my problem.

See, after I uninstalled my AVG programs in whole, ALL of my problems went away. I have been a faithful end user of AVG products for close to 10 years and I will no longer support or recommend their product.

Thank you and have a nice day… Drops Mic

I'm using Windows 7 Enterprise SP1, and a couple of days ago my browsers stopped working. They crash immediately, I've reset IE settings, reinstalled IE, run virus and malware checks, disabled DEP, tried minimal configurations in msconfig and all failed. I disabled AVG free .6125 and browser problems disappeared. The error codes mentioned Stackhash. All Windows updates and drivers are up to date. Could you please advise?

Hello Jimmy,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Unfortunately the problem was not resolved. I was asked to let them remotely access my PC to see if they could help sort it out, but I am not comfortable with that. Clearly they can't be bothered to investigate properly so I won't be buying an annual subscription. The problem still persists after all this time, so I have uninstalled AVG. Their loss.

Hello Ian. Sorry to hear that. May I know from which source you are getting this error codes as "stackhash"?
