IE 8 microsoft updates blocked by AVG

Let's disable AVG temporarily and check if you can update it. To do so: Right click on AVG icon under system tray next to clock, click on toggle bar to disable it.

how do i shut AVG off so i can get my updates i...

i can't run windows update in internet explorer with avg on or activated because it blocks microsoft update because there is no security certificate fo microsoft update in XP and Vista anymore, microsoft revoked the certificate . i have it bypassed so i get updates in IE8 but AVG won't let it update even though ive put it in as an exceptions. If i cant shut it off or force the exception for microsoft updates, i'll have to un install it for good. there hasn't been a valid certificate for Microsoft update since july 2014 when support stopped for xp.but i had the updates installing fine untill i installed AVG free anti virus.
