Impossible to remove free AVG protection

I had free AVG.Suddenly,it requested a key to enroll into the upgraded version.I want to unistall the program-The message that popped up was error 0XE001003C.I downloaded the AVG_uninstall.exe and it turns and turns,but nothing happens.Please help
