This seems not to be an answer to my question but a way to avoid to anwer in a public forum
The problem is that your icon is AVG thus you have a responsability in not to answer

By the way the technical question about the automatic update seems to be deleted from the forum and only the question about the password was left, unusefull to say that the question was repeated, indeed there were tow different questions

I remain waiting to understand why it is not possible to disable the automatic update that is even too time consuming at each start up when it is always better not to overlap activities

On advanced settings, schedule, definition update schedule, its possible NOT TO ENABLE THIS TASK
But
AVG, updates automatically
Previous version dealt this option correctly not IMPOSING a behaviour that has to be decided or not by the user
Unusefull to say that in this way the system is more safe, do the previous version were less safe ?
Not, it is only a disturb for the user and a not straight behaviour in the sense that if the scheduling menu leave to me the possibilities to update or not the program should agree with its option
Agai it's only a way do worsen the product not to improve it

Hello Ecsec,
We can understand your concern that AVG updates are started automatically during every computer boot. I would like to keep you informed that there are new variants of malware, threats developing everyday and our developers are working round the clock to add all those virus definitions to our database and so it is mandatory to update your AVG program regularly whenever new updates are available. You may miss some important updates if the program is manually updated each time. If there are any 'virus definition' updates released when your computer/laptop is switched off, then the updates are installed automatically immediately after booting your computer to make sure that your computer is not vulnerable to the very latest threats and so your online browsing is even more secured and safer. Thank you.
