In XP, AVG system tray icon context menu, then system tray icon disappear

Hello Karthikeyan, thanks for the help. It solved half the problem. The AVG system tray icon in my newly installed Windows XP is now back. But the context menu, when clicking the AVG system tray icon, does not appear. When clicking the AVG system tray ocn an hour glass appears for two seconds, then disappears and nothing happens. Do you experience the same problem? Thank you for your answer! Han

Hello, the AVG system tray context menu and now the AVG system tray icon altogether is missing in Windows XP.

The context-menu of the system tray icon of AVG disappeared already some weeks ago.

Now, after a fresh install of Windows XP, drivers, SP 2 and 3, installing a full package of AVG Free (several hundred MB's), connecting to the Internet and upgrading XP and AVG, the system tray icon of AVG does not appear at all any more.

Am I doing something wrong or do you experience the same problem? (I know Microsoft does not support XP, but the updates keep coming in and AVG Free supports it)

Thank you for trying the repair installation and glad to hear that the tray icon is back. We would like to inform you that the tray icon look has been changed in the latest version of AVG. Could you please share a screenshot ( http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot ) of the tray icon after you click on it?
