Hi Balasubramanian,
No... You do not understand my concerns about the new features or the state of AVG products. If you did, you would not have asked me to file yet another case with your mobile team. The truth of the matter is that AVG has cut a lot of corners in order to rush out the new version of your android products. As a result the new product is full of bugs that have not been fully tested. It is clearly obvious that AVG is perfectly happy to make its customers an extension of their QA staff.
I feel really stupid paying for a product which never has fully functioned properly since I have purchased it 2 years ago and then being told by the company that I need to file multiple cases to report bugs that should have been caught as part of the QA testing process. I have had enough and intend to uninstall AVG from all my devices and switch to BitDefender which has worked out of the box without any of the same issues I seemed to have experienced with AVG,
Sam
Hello,
The recent upgrade of AVG Pro products has all but made the ability to remotely locate/track android devices completely useless. Compared to the older website "avgmobilation.com" the new webpage though having more capabilities/functions has extremely inaccurate and slow locating capabilities.
The older product was much more accurate and very quick in getting location information. I have tested the location capabilities extensively over the past few days and am not at all impressed. I have tried this with two different models of android phones (ZTE/BLU) both which were easily accurately tracked using the old avgmobilation.com website and previous app now barely function.
Case in point, I attempted to setup continual tracking using the new website/app for two of my phones which were physically at my residence. When requesting location or enabling tracking, I keep getting error messages from the website stating that the devices are unable to be contacted. When location data finally comes back it is amazing inaccurate. For one of my phones the location data had the phone more than 2 miles away from its actual location.
In the end this AVG product is totally useless for my needs. I was thinking of renewing my Ultimate licenses which is expiring in the next month, but I am going to switch back to Bitdefender which has much more reliable tracking capabilities. Unless AVG takes serious effort to fix the location capabilities of the new product they are going to be loosing a lot of customers including myself.
I know the default response from you is going to be "Please file a ticket with our Android support team and they will promptly reply to your issue". Please let me preempt your canned reply and say that I don't think you should make your customers an extension of your software QA department. I am certain if AVG was really interested in maintaining their software quality, this issue/bug should have been tested and fixed before the product was released!
So please reply and let myself and all other customers having similar issues that AVG QA department is aware of the inaccurate tracking capabilities and is actively trying to fix the issue,
Regards,
Sam
