Increased Renewal Charges

Present 2 year subscription of £79-99 due to end on 3rd April 2020.
Received AVG email saying renewal price under automatic renewal is now £149-99 from 19th March.
 What is going on here, is this a joke ?. 
This is not a acceptable increase.  Please explain if you want me to remain a client.
