I have been fighting with this for months now and going to your home page and using the links provided there, I kept getting Zen installed with the normal AVG software.
What a relief 
Ever since being forced to install Zen with a recent 2015 update which I have absolutely no need for, AVG has become incredibly slow. Even archiving reports is a pain in the ass now. I've uninstalled and re-installed. I've checked all the settings over and over again and all I can figure is that it is related to the Zen installation.
I do not want Zen and there's no way to remove it without removing AVG. This being said, unless there is a solution, I will be looking hard at other AV software to replace AVG after 7 years of boasting to my friends and business associates about it.
Since this is supposed to be a "Ask a question" type forum, is there a fix for this?

I certainly understand your concern and I apologize for the inconvenience caused.
The Zen concept is used in our latest Multi-device programs and the AVG Zen interface will get installed first and on it the protection program will get installed.
So only if you remove the protection program you can uninstall the Zen interface.
Yes, there is a fix to remove this Zen version and install the AVG free antivirus without Zen.
1) First step is to use AVG Remover tool and uninstall your AVG program completely. To download AVG Remover Tool please click on the following link:

2) Run the downloaded tool and follow the instructions displayed on your screen.
