Thank you Abirami for your response.
I am just trying to schedule an INCREMENTAL backup after running a full backup. This way I am only backing up files that have been updated since last full backup. Data safe option is not available with AVG AntiVirus FREE which is what I am using and I dont think Data safe is applicable to what I am trying to do - just run an incremental backup. Thank you again for trying to help me resolve this issue.

Hello Jim,
Please confirm whether you are trying to back up AVG settings and restore it. If so, please open AVG->Antivirus->Menu->Settings->click on 'Back up settings' option in General tab and save the settings in a folder or drive.

Prior to the current release, I was able to perform an incremental backup. I  do not see where that option is available under this release(17.5) of AVG Anti Virus Free. Is this option no longer available under the current release?

Jim, I am sorry that option you are looking for is not available in AVG. However, you can use the Windows system backup.

Sorry, my apologies to you Bhuvaneswari and Abirami. I meant quick scan not backup.

Thank you Bhuvaneswari for your response. I went to the link but could not find where to increase the scan speed. Can you tell me specifically which article tells me how to do so. I am using AVG AntiVirus FREE version. Thank you for your help.

Jim,
If I understand correctly, you are trying to backup the confidential data in AVG data safe. If so, please go to AVG->Antivirus->Menu->Data safe. You can save your data here.

Jim, No problem! This option is available in 2017 version. Please follow the steps in this article AVG Antivirus: Scan Settings to increase the scan speed.

Thank you Abirami for your prompt response.
I am NOT trying to back up AVG settings.
Under the previous version(16?) prior to AVG AntiVirus Free version 17.5  I was able to run an incremental backup of the files on my hard drive. I dont see where I can do that under version 17.5.
Is that capablity no longer available under the current release(17.5)?
