On restart and coming out of hibernate I sometimes end up with an infinite loop of processes called "AVG_Search_Update_0516piz" or something similar. (I really should have taken a screen shot.)
If I catch it in time I can use Task Manager or Resource Manager to "End Process Tree" and kill the processes before they max all 6 of my cores at 100%.
If all 6 cores hit 100% it is an effective system freeze / system non-responsive. No BSoD though.
This has happened 4 times. I reinstalled AVG. It happened twice again after reinstall.
I am running no other antivirus program that would interfere with AVG. I have MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, free version, which I occasionally will open and scan the computer with, but that software is otherwise inactive / dormant and not in my process tree. The issue I'm having has not correlated with any usage of MalwareBytes.
AVG software info:
AVG AntiVirus Free Edition Version number: 16.71.7596
AVG Zen version: 1.51.2.3593
AVG Framework version: 1.73.2.7662
AVG Setup version: 1.73.2.7513
Virus database version: 4565/12176 (5/6/2016, 7:32 AM)
LinkScanner version: 2883
Anti-Spam version: N/A
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP 1.
When I tried to Google this issue I came up with no useful results and nothing referring to "0516piz" in particular. So I'm at a loss here.
