Good afternoon Avinash,
The virus on AVG Internet Security is now resolved. It was located and quarrantined after a Deep Scan.
Now I have another problem. AVG PC Tuneup (which is a paid subscription) has ceased to work. When I tried to uninistall the program in order to remove it in order to reload from scratch the following message was received. I am now stuck with a program that is unusable.

Have an Inline Hook virus that cannot be removed by AVG Inter-net Security. Any suggestions please?
Here is the screen shot. Your assistance is appreciated.

It is not recommended to delete the files in Windows\System 32 path.
The threat detection in your case should be false alarm.
However, we will check this with our senior team and provide a confirmation.
Your patience is much appreciated.

Dear Alok,
Your recommendation was most helpful. It seems as if the problem is resolved as the new download did not pick up an inline hook and reported the computer is clear.
However: the original problem was the result of an inline hook identified by the AVG Internet Security program was the file c:\windows\system32\ntkrnlpa.exec This file is still on C drive.
Here are the questions: Is c:\windows\system32\ntkrnlpa.exec an inline hook? If so, why has it not been removed? How do I go about removing it?
Thank you for your assistance.
Best,
R
