Hi John, 
In order to analyze it please provide us with diagnostic output (run it after inducing described behavior) using SysInfo (http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_SysInfo.exe) tool and please add detailed description of the issue.

Purchased AVG Protection 2015 in November 2014 and installed it on my phone, tablet and laptop with no trouble. Have been trying to install it on my desktop computer ever since with no success. Every time I try to open the install program I get a error message saying the program has an error and needs to close. This computer is running  Windows XP PRO service pack 3 on a pentiun 2.4GH. How do I get around this problem?.
