Trying to uninstall AVG to return to AVG Free, and it keeps coming up with the following message:

Have tried using the Remove AVG available from the website, and it just sat "Downloading Updates" for 2 hours. Any suggestions?

Hello Jarred. I kindly request you to run AVG remover tool based on your OS (32-bit or 64-bit) to completely remove AVG and then re install the AVG program. please click on this link. http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/827218 to determine whether your OS is a 32-bit or 64-bit.
