Can't install Avg Antivirus free protection. Keep getting the message "Installation Failed, Error code: 0xC0070643, Description: Event exec_finished". I have tried Avg remover tool with no help.
I installed the AVG removers and it only had AVG Zen to be romoved as an option. I follwed the microsoft support link and in the anutomatic version detection results it said I am running a 64-bit system, That's the file I chose.
The same error code came up: 0xC0070643 Description: Event exec_finished
I don't have any other anti-virus programs. Windows Defender has been disabled

AVG will send you an email with further instructions to be followed to get their additional support. Please check for the email on spam or junk folders if it is not present in the inbox.

Can I get one of those emails as well? I'm running Windows 8.1, and I've tried the fix it tool, removing it using the avg removal tool, and to no avail.
