1) First step is to use AVG Remover tool based on your operating system ( http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/827218 ) and uninstall your AVG program completely. To download AVG Remover Tool please click on the following link:
For 32-bit: http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/support/avg_remover_stf_x86_2015_5501.exe
For 64-bit: http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/support/avg_remover_stf_x64_2015_5501.exe
2) Run the downloaded tool and follow the instructions displayed on your screen.
3) Your computer will be restarted automatically. After the restart, AVG Remover will finish the un-installation. Please click on the following link to download the offline installer according to your operating system type from the following link: http://www.avg.com/us-en/download.prd-afh-free . This should resolve your issue.

i have the paid edition, this come to light today when i turned comp on.
AVG popped up asking for my Activation Code so i enterd it then crashed,
tried to start it again and crashed,
tried to repair it FAILED
tried to uninstall it FAILED
i had AVG Tune Up try and uninstall it FAILED

I have had to uninstall AVG Free due to it failing to update, so followed advice on communituy and removed it. I have now tried to reinstall it and installation is failing with this error code 0xE001F90F

Any help greatly appreciated.
