Installation problem

None of the instructions I received worked. So I reset my computer - and now AVG works fine. However, I have a lot of work to do to set up all my favourite applications.

I have just bought AVG Ultimate and found that when I download AVG Myaccount and try to install it, the installation fails and I am told to uninstall the old version. 

But according to my Control panel, I have no existing installation of AVG. And then when I try again I get the same failure to install, and the same warning.

Can you tell me what to do please?
