When starting ON1_Effects (downloaded from their webside), 
as well as today's re-downloaded .dmg show the threat:

> Is the developer's side infected (and their tool) or what might be the reason for this assessment?

This is a false positive. The issue is fixed now, please update your AVG program and restart your device to check the status.
