You should be able to download and install package and activate it using AVG Myaccount not access code should be necessary.

I purchased an iMac two days ago and AVG protection at the store. Installed it and realized I needed a laptop instead of desktop. Wiped the computer and exchanged it in for a MacBook Pro the next day.  The access code doesn't work but because of the circumstances, may I be allowed to use the code once more for my new computer?  I can't justify spending $30+ for less than 24 hours of protection and having to pay for it again…
