Hello,

I previously had a two year AVG Antivirus package installed on my computer. Just before this expired, I decided to upgrade, and purchased a copy of AVG Ultimate, which I then installed. I assumed that AVG would have been "clever" enough to uninstall previous versions, and/or modify the previous version if not uninstalled.

This does not seem to have happened, as I am now getting a message from the new Ultimate interface that my Antivirus programme has expired - 2 days after having installed and activated the new Ultimate version. This is obviously not acceptable.

I have tried to use the new licence number but it will not accept it, saying it is not a valid number.

How do I get rid of the old antivirus program, and ensure that the new ultimate is working correctly?

You are welcome, Hennie. We appreciate your effort in fixing it via live chat support. I request you to download AVG Ultimate using the link given in the previous post and activate it using AVG Myaccount. Feel free to contact us back for further assistance. Aravind, AVG Customer Care.

Thanks for your quick response, Aravind.

I was assisted by one of your associates through live chat, and have managed to complete the uninstall.

I do have a CD (or is it a DVD…) that came with the purchase of the Ultimate package. Do I run the re-install from the CD again, as I did previously, or should I download from the link you supplied in previous message?
