Installing AVG Protection 2015

I have Windows 8.1. Was already on AVG 2014 and have tried to instal AVG Protection 2015 "for all my devices".  Went through the installation process and loaded the key code, without success.

Should I download the free version or should I uninstal 2014 version first?
