Hello Bascom. AVG Ultimate is the combination of both AVG Protection and AVG Performance. I request you to follow the below mentioned instructions:
1) First step is to use AVG Remover tool and uninstall your AVG protection program completely. To download AVG Remover Tool please click on the following link: http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/support/avg_remover_stf_x64_2015_5501.exe.
2) To download AVG remover tool to remove AVG performance program completely please click on this link: http://www.avg.com/filedir/util/TuneUp_Remover.exe.
2) Run the downloaded tool and follow the instructions displayed on your screen.
Thanks for the tips, but I'm still not getting my "Portection" downloaded and installed. The Tune up will install completely and the Privacy will install partially, but Protection, nothing. Shows the window saying "Downloading and installing AVG Protection", but then it just times out and nothing. Is there a file I can download and install the Protection manually? Same thing happens on my laptop and my desktop.

I bought this item from Amazon. Followed the instructions and got the product registered with AVG. When I log in to AVG, the item shows up under my subscriptions. I downloaded the "AVG Internet Security" file. Ran file, which installed AVG Zen. I now have "Performance Pro" installed but nothing else. When I click on the "Protection" tab and select the "Download for Free" selection, it says downloading but nothing happens. I'm installing this on a Sony Vaio laptop.
