Insufficient permissions

Hello Jeanette,
Thank you for the explanation. Let's work together to fix it.
Do you receive this permission error while trying to access all word/ excel files or any particular files?
Open AVG Internet Security -> Hackers & Attacks -> Ransomware Protection -> Blocked/ allowed apps -> Blocked apps -> check if MS Office any files is added there. If so, remove it from the list and check the status.
Yes, your AVG TuneUp - Unlimited is valid till 2019.9.9. Please try to reactivate your AVG Tuneup and check if that helps.
Open AVG Tuneup -> My AVG -> My Subscription -> Log out and remove license (if available) -> Log in -> enter your email address and password to reactivate it.

Original question:
Each time I purchase & download AVG products, it removes my administrative permissions.

What is it I need to do - something simple please - to get my permissions restored.  This is on my personal computer in my home!

Hello Jeanette,

We will help you with the necessary information

We are not clear with the issue.

What do you mean by administrative permission, can you explain it?

I try to move, rename or delete documents, and I get the message of having insufficient permissions to do these tasks and I have to have administrative authority!   I am the one and only person on my system, and I AM the administrator…  This is VERY exasperating!

Also, your program says I need to renew my tuneup, but I paid for one (1) year on 09/19/18.

On the RansomWare Protection, it asks which folders I would like to protect and in this, it list a lot of Windows.old folders.  Is this what you are talking about?

I have tried to move, rename, delete the following type(s) of files and I get the following message:  "you'll need to provide administrator permissions to (delete - move - remove) this file".  It doesn't matter if it's a PDF, a JPG, an Open Office document, or anything.  It doesn't matter what extension the file is connected to - it is on ALL my files, photographs, etc.  I do know MS tries to keep attaching to everything and Chrome is my predominant browser

Hello catherine,

Yes, we are referring to Ransomware protection.
Please make sure that you enabled Smart mode (Open AVG Internet Security > Hackers attacks > Ransomeware protection > Smart mode) . Did you check in the Blocked/allowed apps in ransomeware protection as we stated earlier? If you find any files under 'Blocked apps', please remove it and then add to 'Allowed apps' list.
Try edit the files and monitor the status. Keep us updated on the progress.
