Are you experiencing this issue only after installing AVG Ultimate on your Windows XP PC?
Could you please disable AVG protection program temporarily by following the instructions mentioned in this link: http://avgread.me/1GnMD3N and check whether you able to connect to your WIFI?

Have just purchased 2yr AVG Ultimate and Driver Updater and can't grt the wifi to authenticate. error message suggests I need 12.0.0.x for my Windows XP laptop
